What is Salmonella

Salmonella is an infectious intestinal disease caused by the Salmonella bacteria found in the intestines of animals. This makes foods such as meat, dairy and egg products susceptible to it. Salmonella is a silent culprit; the pathogen can already be present without you even realizing it. As a result, there is a high chance of rapid spread. When animals do suffer, symptoms are often diarrhea, vomiting, fever or fatigue. Without moisture and food Salmonella survives just fine, this makes it all the more difficult to combat the bacteria.

Combating the Salmonella bacteria

The focus is on preventing infection with Salmonella. With disinfection you make sure you kill the pathogens. Through disinfection we protect animals and, for example, pipes and surfaces in the food industry from bacteria. Disinfectants with chemicals can be helpful, but you should always use them correctly by carefully following the instructions. Chemical disinfectants often have harmful effects and are often bad for humans, animals and the environment.
